The NMRC funded inter-disciplinary lung cancer programme is seeking to employ an Assistant Manager / Senior Assistant Manager / Manager to coordinate a clinical and translational lung cancer screening study in Singapore. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the operations and administrative matters on the study. Your role will require both project management and problem-solving skills in order to ensure smooth running of this multi-centre study.

There will be ample opportunities to interact with the broader lung cancer community including scientists, clinicians, industry partners and national/global organisations engaged in cancer prevention. Potential candidates should be interested to address the important public health challenge in of reducing lung cancer mortality through early detection.

Key Duties:

1. Project management and research operations across multiple sites

  • Liaise and work alongside research stakeholders, including PIs, Co-Is, collaborators and partners across sites, institutions and departments
  • Report writing, preparation of presentation slide decks
  • Research procurement, billing matters and claims
  • IRB renewal and amendments
  • Coordinating and scheduling meetings
  • Study publicity, including working with Corporate Communications team, running engagement booths at community outreach events, coming up with study collaterals and materials
  • Consider and manage study's operational needs, e.g., resources, manpower, timing, laboratory facilities
  • Data curation for collaborations, reports and dissemination of findings
  • Keep to systems for documents filing, recording (together with Research Coordinators)
  • Samples inventory management and retrieval (together with Research Coordinators)
  • Study recruitment support (where required)

2. Research funds / accounts management

  • Budget projection, tracking
  • Good grasp of research finances processes and able to execute in accordance to grantors' and/or institutional financial policies
  • Managing different accounts / drawdowns simultaneously based on timeline and demands
  • Contribute to the process of securing grants / be involved in the process of engaging sponsors

3. Research collaborations and handling of agreements

  • Understanding of research compliance including HBRA, tissue banking act, IRB regulations
  • To work closely with Compliance and Contracts team to execute agreements for collaborations: understand and convey study team's needs and complete work plans

4. (Manager role specific) Management of research coordinators

  • Training and guiding research coordinators or new hires
  • Tasks and resource allocation
  • Assessment of performance of subordinates and giving feedback
Key Responsibilities:
  • Degree in Sciences, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Social Sciences, or related fields.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TEAMS and other M365 tools.
  • Minimally 2-3 years of experience in healthcare operations / administrative field and/or research settings.
  • Committed team player and able to work independently where required.
  • Meticulous, have good time management, and ability to problem solve.
  • Good command of English (spoken and written).
