Job description

As a TechOps Manager at Industrious, you will lead technology operations across our APAC portfolio, driving operational excellence, vendor performance, and regional technology execution. You will supervise the implementation and maintenance of our computing needs, initially leading an IT Associate directly while helping shape and hire for a planned Projects Coordinator, APAC to support our region's growth.

A successful TechOps Manager will be responsible for balancing direct, hands-on technical problem-solving—especially during incidents, coverage gaps, or peak periods with strategic leadership, delegation, and proactive forward planning. In this role, you will partner closely with cross-regional counterparts in EMEA and North America to align global standards, systems, and priorities, while serving as the primary operational advocate for the APAC region.

The TechOps Manager will report to the Senior Manager, Global TechOps.

What you’ll do
Regional Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead and develop the IT Associate, APAC, delegating clearly defined ownership and building their autonomy through structured 1:1s and stretch assignments.
  • Own team capacity planning, including coverage across planned absences, so APAC never operates without technical support.
  • Set clear expectations and provide regular feedback and coaching, in line with Industrious' Bee-Leader Core Four (drive performance, communicate, set expectations, provide feedback).
Hands-On Execution & Team Support
  • Stay directly involved in technical delivery — this is not a purely oversight role. Work alongside the IT Associate (and the Projects Coordinator, once that role is hired) on live issues, new launches, and vendor escalations rather than only directing from a distance.
  • Step in personally on complex or high-priority incidents, difficult troubleshooting, or urgent business-critical issues, especially where the team needs a more experienced hand.
  • Provide direct coverage for network, AV, or infrastructure work during team absences or peak periods, alongside coordinating broader coverage plans.
  • Use hands-on involvement as a coaching opportunity — working a problem together with the IT Associate (and later the Projects Coordinator) to build their skills, rather than simply taking over.
Global Alignment & Business Partnership
  • Operate as part of one global TechOps function: proactively flag decisions touching global standards, systems, or vendor direction to the Senior Manager, Global TechOps before they're implemented, not after.
  • Represent APAC in the weekly cross-regional TechOps sync, ensuring the region's priorities and constraints are understood by EMEA/NA counterparts, and vice versa.
  • Communicate rationale clearly and with empathy when declining or deprioritising business requests, maintaining an approachable, collaborative tone even under pressure.
Strategic & Forward-Looking Planning
  • Own a rolling 6-month view of upcoming technology refreshes, new launches, and vendor renewals across APAC, updated monthly, in place of ad hoc/reactive planning.
  • Partner on CAPEX planning through structured vendor evaluations, regional requirements gathering, and cost forecasting.
  • Own the New Launch blueprint for APAC, ensuring every new site opens with documented, tracked technical scope agreed with vendors (Isofy, Adventus, and others) ahead of time.
  • Own the relationship and SLA performance of regional vendors (Adventus, Isofy, and local partners), including monthly performance reviews and escalation management.
  • Ensure first-response and resolution SLAs are consistently met and reported on.
  • Escalate vendor performance issues promptly and drive them to resolution, using data from regular reporting.
Technical Oversight
  • Network: Maintain deep working knowledge of APAC's network architecture — topology, firewalls, switching, VLANs, wireless, and VoIP — sufficient to direct vendors, validate their work, and make sound design decisions rather than relying solely on their assessment.
  • Audio Visual: Understand and oversee AV systems across meeting rooms, studios, and event spaces (video conferencing, in-house studio equipment), including commissioning, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination for repairs and upgrades.
  • Security & Access: door access and lock systems (e.g., Assa Abloy), CCTV layout and count, and physical security integration with IT infrastructure at each site.
  • Systems & Platforms: Office 365 (Exchange, SharePoint), Google Workspace, MDM/endpoint management, and core business SaaS tools used across the region, ensuring configuration meets global security standards.
  • Infrastructure: telephony, printing, and general hardware/software asset management, including lifecycle planning and refresh cycles.
  • Maintain oversight of APAC's overall technical posture, ensuring every scope area above stays aligned with global standards rather than region-specific workarounds.
  • Support major incidents with timely, proactive communication to the business, even before a resolution is confirmed — while using your own technical understanding to sense-check vendor updates and timelines.
  • Source vendors and manage quotations for hardware/software procurement across the region.
Who you are
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in IT/TechOps, including at least 3 years in a leadership or team-lead capacity.
  • Proven experience managing outsourced vendors or managed service providers against SLAs.
  • Technical depth: Strong, hands‑on technical grounding across the full scope you'll oversee: network infrastructure and topology, firewalls and access switching, AV systems, door access/CCTV, and core business systems (Office 365/Google Workspace) — enough to direct and challenge vendors credibly, not just relay their findings.
  • Industry: Multi‑site experience in a fast‑growing or coworking/real estate environment is a strong plus.
  • Experience operating in, or transitioning into, a global or matrixed organisation structure.
Qualities
  • Able to balance deep technical credibility with business communication and stakeholder management.
  • Comfortable delegating and developing others, rather than retaining ownership of all work — while still willing to roll up your sleeves and work a problem directly when the team needs it.
  • Forward‑looking and proactive; anticipates needs rather than reacting to them.
  • Communicates clearly and with empathy, including when delivering difficult messages.
  • Genuinely collaborative — seeks alignment with global counterparts rather than operating independently.
What’s in it for you
  • Competitive remuneration
  • 5‑day hybrid work week
  • Monthly mobile allowance
  • Flexible benefits for medical and other approved wellness, healthcare activities etc.
  • Beautiful workplace setting that fosters collaboration and interactions with others from a diverse background of cultures
  • Opportunity to work with various teams across regional locations
