Facilities Technician: Ultra-Pure Water & Wastewater (UPW/WWTP)
As a Facilities Technician, you will provide engineering support to oversee, plan, and ensure proper operations and maintenance of the Ultra‑Pure Water (UPW) and Wastewater (WW) systems. This role offers exposure to advanced technology, cross‑functional collaboration, and accelerated training in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and monitor UPW and WWTP systems to ensure efficient operation and compliance with specifications.
- Perform quality control, maintain regulatory compliance, and conduct inspections.
- Diagnose and resolve routine and non‑routine problems promptly.
- Identify and implement improvements to enhance system reliability and stability.
- Enforce safety compliance and adhere to government regulations and internal safety protocols.
- Collaborate with system engineers on environmental sustainability projects, including energy reduction, water conservation, and waste recycling.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors to implement corrective and preventive maintenance programs.
- Execute PM/CM activities as outlined in SOP, RA, PTP, and adhere to TPM principles.
- Respond to out-of-spec conditions, interruptions, and maintain minimal downtime.
- Generate and update maintenance work orders and inventory records through the Facility Management System (FMS).
- Understand and implement lockout/tagout, permit‑to‑work, and risk assessment procedures.
- Identify electrical, fire, and chemical hazards and follow safety procedures for confined spaces.
- Select and don appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
- Diploma in chemical or environmental engineering (preferred).
- Strong analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and analytics tools.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant experience with water or wastewater systems.
