Job summary

Marina Bay Sands is seeking a hands-on Landscape Gardener to maintain diverse outdoor spaces, including bonsai and shrubs, ensuring work meets SOPs and standards. You will perform routine inspections, coordinate with vendors for pest control and irrigation, and support safey documentation and records.

Applicants should have at least three years of hands-on landscape experience and an N level or higher; NEA pest management or landscape certificates are advantageous, with preference for knowledge

Qualifications

• N level or higher; NEA pest management and landscape certificates are advantageous.
• Knowledge of horticultural chemicals and pesticides is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on maintenance for general and curated landscapes (bonsai, shrubs).
• Conduct routine landscape inspections and report defects.
• Escort vendors for landscape, pest control, and irrigation maintenance.
• Ensure quality work is performed according to SOPs, guidelines, and standards.
• Assist in operating and maintaining irrigation systems.
• Update records and perform basic administrative tasks in the system.
• Carry out inventory stock checks and store management for equipment.
• Take on ad-hoc tasks and support other facilities team members.

Job Responsibilities

• Ability to perform hands-on maintenance for general landscape and curated landscape e.g. bonsai and shrubs
• Perform routine landscape inspection and report any defects to superior
• Escort vendors/service partners for landscape, pest control and irrigation maintenance services
• Ensure quality works are be carried out based on SOPs, Guidelines, and Standards
• Assist in operation and maintaining the irrigation system
• Carry out simple administrative updates in system
• Perform Inventory stock checks, store management, equipment checks.
• Perform ad-hoc tasks as required, including assisting other facilities department team members

Job Requirements

Education & Certification

• At least 'N' level or higher level will be an advantage
• Possess NEA certificate in Pest management will be an advantage
• Relevant landscape training certificate will be an advantage

Experience

• At least three years of hands-on practical working as a landscape gardener or equivalent

Other Prerequisites

• Knowledge on the application of horticultural chemical and pesticides will be an advantage
• Preferably experience working outdoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to fatigue, noise, dust, and be able to access all areas of the property including those at height and must be comfortable to work in indoor and outdoor environment; not limited to fatigue, noise, dust, and be able to access all areas of the property including those at height
• Experience in basic health assessment of plants
• Experience in use of horticultural chemical and pesticides
• Must be able to adapt and perform in fast-paced Environment to complete the tasks assigned
• Able to work with minimum supervision and independently occasionally
• Monitor the day -to-day work progress of defects' rectification and identify any equipment defect
• Enforcing safe work practices for the contractor based on the Risk Assessment and safe work procedures
• Be willing to work any day of the week and any shift, or extended hours when necessary
• Execute all jobs correctly and properly within SOPs, Guidelines and Standards
• Attend regular meetings and work with the maintenance contractor to resolve and improve the service level
• Assist to document and store records of landscape, pest control and irrigation maintenance work
• Support to implement safety standards and protocol for landscape, pest control and irrigation maintenance work
• Execute strong attention to details
• Perform ad-hoc tasks as required
