Job summary

REC Solar Pte Ltd is seeking a motivated Shift Technician to support equipment maintenance and continuous improvement in our Cells manufacturing plant. You will drive reliability, efficiency, and quality to help REC become a world-leading solar cells producer.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, PM, PDM, TPM per plan, and reporting. The role requires strong technical skills, safety compliance, and the ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in equipment maintenance in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and PM/PDM/TPM execution.
• Ability to work in a 12-hour rotating shift and stand by for standby/weekend activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment troubleshooting and preventive maintenance during shift work.
• Carry out basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
• Execute PM, PDM, and TPM activities per plan and standards.
• Ensure equipment and systems are in good operating condition.
• Provide timely updates or reports on maintenance work.
• Support process optimization, cost reduction, system upgrades, and equipment qualification.
• Follow safety procedures and maintenance instructions.
• Maintain discipline and support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Shift Technician to support the equipment maintenance and continuous improvement functions within REC's Cells manufacturing plant. The incumbent will play a key role in driving equipment reliability, operational efficiency, product quality, and manufacturing excellence in support of REC's ambition to be the world's leading solar cells producer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform equipment troubleshooting and preventive maintenance (PM) during shift work.

Carry out basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtime.

Execute Preventive Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance (PDM), and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities according to planned schedules and standards.

Ensure equipment and systems are maintained in good operational condition.

Provide timely updates or reports on the maintenance works.

Support projects related to process optimization, cost reduction, system upgrades, Cpk improvement, equipment qualification, and new material evaluation.

Follow safety procedures, operational standards, and maintenance work instructions.

Maintain a high level of discipline, accountability, and punctuality by remaining focused on assigned tasks and supporting uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB COMPETENCIES

Equipment Maintenance Execution (PM/PDM/TPM): Ability to perform preventive, predictive, and total productive maintenance activities according to established procedures and standards to ensure equipment reliability and operational readiness.

Technical Troubleshooting & Downtime Reduction: Ability to carry out basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to support timely recovery of equipment and minimize operational downtime.

Maintenance Reporting & System Accountability: Ability to provide accurate maintenance updates and documentation to ensure proper tracking of maintenance activities and equipment conditions.

Safety Compliance & Operational Discipline: Commitment to following workplace safety requirements, operational procedures, and maintenance standards to ensure safe and compliant operations.

. Teamwork & Shift Support: Ability to work collaboratively with team members and support shift operations to achieve maintenance and production targets

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Candidates with equipment maintenance experience in manufacturing environment will have an added advantage.

Strong knowledge or hands-on experience in automation systems, pneumatic systems, servo/linear motion systems, motors, sensors, and electrical schematics.

Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Hands-on experience in equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and root cause analysis is preferred.

Demonstrate integrity, accountability, and a proactive working attitude.

Basic computer literacy - Microsoft Office.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.

Self-motivated, dynamic, and committed with a proactive attitude toward problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Strong organizational, analytical, and teamwork skills.

Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

Diploma/ Higher NITEC/ NITEC in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
