Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Singapore is seeking a machinist with experience in the Aircraft Engine Industry to operate various machining equipment. You will perform dimensional fits, conduct inspections, and assist the line supervisor in achieving production targets.

The ideal candidate has at least a GCE ‘O’/’N’ level or equivalent with NITEC in Precision/Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering, and must be able to work rotating shifts. Opportunities for career development and comprehensive health benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum educational qualification is GCE ‘O’/’N’ level or equivalent.
• Prior experience in the Aircraft Engine Industry is required.
• Ability to work weekly rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate various conventional machining equipment, such as manual lathe and milling machine.
• Perform machining dimensional fits and clearance checks.
• Conduct bench repair works including blending and stud replacement.
• Inspect work using measuring instruments to verify specifications.
• Assist line supervisor in achieving production targets.

What You Will Do

• Operate various conventional machining equipment, such as manual lathe, bores, milling machine and EDM
• Perform machining dimensional fits & clearance checks per OEM technical manuals (CIR, MM, SPM).
• Perform various bench repair works such as blending, inserts & broken stud replacement.
• Interpret machining dimensions & understand the requirements from technical drawings
• Inspect work using conventional measuring instruments such as Micrometer, Vernier Caliper and Dial Indicator to verify conformance to specifications
• Assist line supervisor in their daily operations to achieve production targets, corporate goals and discipline
• Perform various other duties as assigned by Workshop Engineer/Manager

Qualifications You Must Have

• At least GCE ‘O’/’N’ level or equivalent with NITEC in Precision/Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering
• Prior experience in Aircraft Engine Industry required
• Able to work weekly rotating shifts

Qualifications We Prefer

• Machinist with conventional machining experience in the aviation industry is preferred
