Job summary

Edmund Optics Singapore Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Technician in the Coating department to operate part optical components manufacturing processes within specifications, meeting quality standards and safety guidelines.

You will handle vacuum chambers to apply AR coatings, perform metrology with spectrometers, and contribute to weekly maintenance while recording production data to ensure throughput and quality.

Qualifications

• Singapore Technical Certificate or Diploma with basic written and oral English.
• Minimum 6 months’ experience in a factory environment.

Responsibilities

• Understand Acceptance Test Plan (ATP) requirements and execute accordingly.
• Demonstrate understanding of coating materials and machine operation.
• Operate vacuum chambers to apply thin film AR coatings as described in run sheet design.
• Use spectrometer to collect data on witness pieces and document results.
• Perform preventative maintenance for weekly scheduled jobs and maintain safety standards.
• Operate Intec/LP machine and long layer BS coating as required.
• Record machine runs, downtimes, and other production data.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper handling of measuring equipment.

Job Description

• To understand how to reach Acceptance Test Plan (ATP).
• Demonstrate understanding of coating material.
• Demonstrate understanding of machine operation.
• Operate vacuum chambers to apply thin film AR coatings as described in run sheet design.
• Demonstrate ability to properly use metrology equipment (spectrometer) to gather data on witness pieces.
• Perform maintenance on vacuum system as described in WI.
• Operate Intec/LP machine and long layer BS coating.
• Perform preventative maintenance for weekly scheduled jobs.
• Capable of operating 2 machines simultaneously.
• Achieve daily and monthly production output goals.
• Record machine runs, test runs, downtime, and other.
• Properly use, maintain, and control measuring equipment.
• Maintain safety guidelines of workplace.
• Perform duties within cleanliness standards of workplace.
• Other duties as may be assigned.
• Comply with company regulations.

Qualifications Required

• Singapore Technical Certificate or Diploma with basic written and oral English

Skills & Abilities Required

• Minimum 6 months’ experience in a factory environment, capable of following instructions and performing production tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 10kg.
• Close-range vision for detailed work.

• Comfortable working in a factory environment with minimal exposure to chemicals.
