Job summary

Travelodge Hotels Asia is seeking a Maintenance & Engineering Technician responsible for general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms and public areas, including preventive maintenance on entry-level systems.

You will perform tasks across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, tiling and operate basic hand and power tools to keep the hotel and grounds in good repair and respond promptly to engineering concerns.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction or hotel maintenance is beneficial.
• Basic understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry concepts.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet schedules.
• Punctuality and reliable attendance.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays and varying shifts.

Responsibilities

• Oversee engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel, property and grounds.
• Respond to engineering and maintenance concerns.
• Perform and monitor maintenance and preventative maintenance projects.
• Address building-related safety concerns.
• Ensure compliance with hotel maintenance procedures.
• Support department maintenance programs and execute routine checklists.
• Assist management in selecting supplies and equipment for operations.
• Handle guest-related maintenance requests.
• Maintain guest rooms and public spaces across trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, tiling).
• Operate basic hand/power tools as needed.

JOB OVERVIEW

The M&E Technician will be responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms and common areas. Guest rooms and public area entry-level preventative maintenance are included. The M&E Technician will also perform some repairs on mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel, hotel property and grounds
• Responds to engineering and maintenance concerns
• Performs and/or monitors maintenance and preventative maintenance projects
• Responds to all building related safety concerns
• Maintains departmental compliance with hotel maintenance procedures
• Supports hotel departmental maintenance programs and executes daily, weekly, monthly checklists
• Assist management in specifying proper supplies and equipment for operations
• Deals with guest related concerns
• Maintain the guest rooms, public space and back of the hotel areas in good repair by performing various tasks related to a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air-conditioning, painting, wall covering and tiling to ensure an attractive and well-maintained hotel.
• Must possess knowledgeable of basic hand/power tool operation

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Previous construction or hotel maintenance department experience will be an added advantage
• Should have basic understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry concepts
• Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work a variety of varying schedules
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
