Job summary

Charterhouse Partnership is seeking a Technical Superintendent to oversee tanker fleet operations in Singapore. The role requires ensuring compliance with Classification Society, Flag State, and oil majors, and managing the technical maintenance and certification of vessels.

Applicants should have substantial experience as Chief Engineer and Technical Superintendent, with a university degree in mechanical, marine engineering or naval architecture, and tanker experience at senior management level.

Qualifications

• 5 years' documented experience as Chief Engineer and 3 years as Technical Superintendent in a similar company.
• Marine Engineering knowledge and vessel systems expertise.
• Experience managing tanker operations and maintenance planning.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vessels to the requirements of Classification Society, Flag State, Port State and oil majors.
• Monitor and control the vessel's technical maintenance and certification.
• Prepare vessel maintenance budgets and manage planned maintenance schedules monthly.
• Check PMS status for expired maintenance and schedule works.
• Report contingencies or failures to Senior Superintendent and Technical Manager.
• Plan and report corrective repairs with vessel crew.
• Review bunker/lube oil analyses and advise on non-conformities.
• Review class status and surveys, report incorrect information.
• Preliminary DD machinery spec coordination with senior superintendent for tenders.
• Supervise dry-docking works and ensure compliance with specs and invoicing.

Technical Superintendent - Tanker Shipping

Responsibilities and duties

• Maintain vessels to therequirement of Classification Society, Flag state,Port State, Oil majors and state regulations that the vessels are plying.
• monitoring and controlling of the ship’stechnical maintenance andcertification of assigned vessels;
• vessel expenses budget allocated on his role as per PRO-02 procedure
• checking the statusof the PMS system in relation to expired planned maintenance and scheduling of works on monthly basis.
• reporting to theSenior Superintendent andTechnical Manager any contingency or vessel structural /machinery failure which comes to his knowledge and may lead into hazardous or risk situation for the crew, the vessel and its cargo;
• planning /reporting in cooperation withvessel crew corrective repairs of revealed deficiencies, failures and non-conformities raised from vessel inspection;
• examining bunker/lube oil analysis, and highlight to the vesselnon conformities and recommendations in consultation with Senior Superintendent;
• reviewing with techmanager the vesselclass status at each newentry, check survey reports entries /data, notify class of any wrong reported information;
• preliminary reviewing the intended DD machinery spec related to inside /outside ER machinery in consultation withsenior supt.; to arrange/report fullDD spec and preliminary tender comparison.
• supervising and reporting dry-docking works /substantial repairs, verify compliance with approved specification, check worksreliability, review measurements /readings records, jobs report, review and concur pro-forma invoice.

Requirements and work experiences

• 5 years documented experience as Chief Engineer and 3 years as technical superintendent in similar company
• University degreeas mechanical engineer or marine engineer or naval architect
• Tanker experience in senior management level on boardfor a minimumof 2 years.
