Job summary

Zohorecruit in Singapore seeks an LNG Technical Superintendent/Chief Engineer to oversee technical performance and safe operation of LNG carriers. You will monitor machinery, timings, and maintenance to ensure readiness across a fleet.

The role requires 5–10 years seagoing LNG experience, a Marine Engineering degree or related field, and strong leadership to guide engineers, liaise with yards and regulators, and optimize asset reliability and fuel efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in Marine Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of seagoing LNG carrier experience (LNG Technical Superintendent or Chief Engineer).
• Strong knowledge of LNG carrier machinery, propulsion, maintenance planning, and maritime regulations.
• Proven analytical, problem-solving, communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technical performance, reliability, and safe operation of LNG carriers.
• Monitor machinery condition, maintenance standards, and planned maintenance activities for operational readiness.
• Coordinate repairs, dry-docking, upgrades, and technical projects within schedules and budgets.
• Review technical reports, defect lists, machinery data, and maintenance records to identify corrective actions.
• Guide Chief Engineers and vessel teams on troubleshooting and maintenance planning.
• Ensure compliance with class, flag-state regulations, standards, and LNG safety requirements.
• Manage technical budgets, operating expenses, spare parts, and repair expenditures for assigned vessels.
• Liaise with shipyards, classification societies, equipment makers, contractors, and service providers.
• Support inspections, audits, incident investigations, and root-cause analysis with corrective actions.
• Evaluate vessel performance and recommend improvements to machinery efficiency and asset condition.

Job Description

• Monitor vessel machinery condition, maintenance standards, and planned maintenance activities to ensure operational readiness.
• Coordinate vessel repairs, dry-docking, upgrades, and technical projects within approved schedules and budgets.
• Review technical reports, defect lists, machinery performance data, and maintenance records to identify issues requiring corrective action.
• Guide Chief Engineers and vessel teams on troubleshooting, maintenance planning, and technical best practices.
• Ensure vessels comply with applicable class requirements, flag-state regulations, statutory standards, and LNG-related safety requirements.
• Manage technical budgets, operating expenses, spare parts requirements, and repair expenditures for assigned vessels.
• Liaise with shipyards, classification societies, equipment makers, contractors, and service providers on technical matters.
• Support inspections, audits, incident investigations, and root-cause analysis while following through on corrective and preventive measures.
• Evaluate vessel performance and recommend improvements to machinery efficiency, reliability, fuel consumption, and overall asset condition.

Requirements

• Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related engineering discipline; Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency is preferred.
• Minimum 5–10 years of seagoing experience aboard LNG carriers as an LNG Technical Superintendent or Chief Engineer on LNG vessels
• Strong knowledge of LNG carrier machinery, propulsion systems, cargo-related equipment, planned maintenance, dry-docking, class requirements, and maritime regulations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple vessels and technical priorities effectively.
