Job summary

A maritime company is seeking a Technical Superintendent (Containers) in Singapore. The ideal candidate will lead safety efforts, ensure compliance with regulations, and provide training to team members. Candidates should have a minimum of eight years in vessel management, with experience as a Chief Engineer or Second Engineer. Qualifications

Responsibilities
  • Take the lead and make sure everyone is safe, both in the workplace and on board.
  • Make sure that ships always abide by the laws and regulations of the port state, classification society, international, and flag state.
  • Make sure team members receive coaching, mentoring, and training in accordance with organisation requirements and industry standards.
  • Oversee ship upkeep to guarantee seaworthiness.
  • For ship repairs and maintenance, coordinate with manufacturers, contractors, and service engineers.
  • Perform a risk analysis, taking into account the types and causes of significant malfunctions and losses.
  • Track operating expenses and turn in quarterly reports on the budget's progress.
Qualifications
  • Eight years minimum of relevant experience under independent vessel management with respectable ship owners or managers.
  • Have either a Class 1 or 2 CoC and sailing experience as a Chief Engineer or Second Engineer.
  • It will be advantageous to have solid understanding and expertise with container ships.
  • Has a history of achieving operational excellence.
  • Strong ability to make decisions and handle stakeholders.
