Job summary

DHL Express is seeking a senior IT architect to translate complex customs and regulatory requirements into practical, technology-driven solutions. You will work with Enterprise Architecture to ensure alignment with global standards and deliver scalable, secure platforms.

Location options include Singapore or Cyberjaya, Malaysia, with a focus on architecture leadership, integration, and implementation of diverse cloud and API-based solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of experience in a technical role or a customer-facing technical position.
• Ability to work autonomously and independently.
• Deep technical expertise and the ability to provide guidance on the application of relevant technologies.
• Proven experience in IT solution development, data analysis, systems design, systems integration, and solution implementation.
• Solid understanding of business processes and the metrics that support them.
• A results-oriented mindset, with the ability to navigate organizational complexity and work in a matrix environment.
• Strong judgment and decision-making skills with risk evaluation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to build partnerships and manage relationships with suppliers and channel partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead POCs, POVs, and prototyping activities to validate business value and target solution designs.
• Define and document high-level solution architecture and design principles for progress to detailed designs.
• Develop messaging specifications for REST/JSON services, cloud platforms, containers, APIs, and SDKs.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to align with global trade compliance and architectural standards.
• Drive multiple technology initiatives, products, platforms, and projects within the domain.
• Analyze complex business requirements and design solutions that meet architectural standards and business needs.
• Support QA, configuration, testing, training, documentation, implementation and integration activities.
• Provide technical leadership and oversee build and run activities for specific technologies or platforms.

Role Purpose:

This role operates at the tactical-to-strategic level, delivering solutions aligned with established enterprise standards while contributing to the evolution of customs clearance processes, products, and platforms.

You will translate complex customs and regulatory requirements into practical, technology-driven solutions in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture, ensuring alignment with global trade compliance, data integrity, security, and architectural standards.

Location: Singapore or Cyberjaya, Malaysia

How will you contribute to the success of DHL?

• Lead POCs, POVs, and prototyping activities to validate business value and target solution designs.
• Define and document high-level solution architecture and design principles, enabling solution architects to progress detailed designs.
• Develop and understand messaging specifications for REST/JSON services, cloud platforms (Azure, GCP), containers, APIs, and SDKs.
• Work closely with the Head of Domain and Enterprise Architecture teams to translate strategic vision into scalable technology solutions and roadmaps.
• Build knowledge of emerging technologies and collaborate with strategic partners to co-create capabilities that support business objectives.
• Manage and drive multiple technology initiatives, products, platforms, and projects within the domain.
• Analyze complex business requirements and design solutions that align with agreed architectural standards and business needs.
• Support quality assurance, configuration, testing, training, documentation, implementation, and integration activities required for successful solution delivery.
• Provide technical leadership and expertise for specific technologies, products, or platforms, including oversight of their build and run activities.
• Balance strategic objectives with immediate business priorities to achieve desired outcomes.
