Job summary

Google Cloud seeks a Central Operations Construction Technical Program Manager to lead multi-disciplinary programs focused on data center planning and execution. You will coordinate with internal teams and partners to deliver operational improvements and communicate progress to leadership.

You will drive program charters, schedules, and dependencies, guiding cross-functional initiatives through completion while shaping processes, tools, and training for scalable, compliant data center delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in program management.
• 8 years of experience designing, constructing, or managing infrastructure projects.
• Experience creating infrastructure designs (telecom, electrical, mechanical), drawing sets for builds, and remodels of data center networking spaces.

Responsibilities

• Partner closely with Data Center teams to ensure programs meet audit and compliance standards.
• Coordinate, manage, and execute onsite audits with internal and external stakeholders.
• Enhance, transform, create, or deprecate practices to support compliance and audit requirements.
• Develop communication and rollout strategy to management and execution teams including training and awareness notifications.
• Participate in and create a program initiative charter with planning, scheduling, and objective prioritization.

The Data Center Delivery and Execution (DCDE) team is a collection of Data Center Design/Engineering/Construction experts. Also included are Project/Data Center Services/Project Controls and Front-End-Planning managers who establish and construct the most efficient data centers in the world.

As a Central Operations Construction Technical Program Manager (TPM), you will be deeply involved in multiple strategic and tactical projects and programs focused on improving our data center planning and execution.

You will focus on partner programs which means you will be deeply involved in multiple strategic and tactical efforts focused on improving our data center planning and execution. Additionally, you will organize and manage program initiatives through completion including successfully delivering and communicating to the business operational improvements, technical insertion opportunities, machine learning progress, and cross-functional programs at project delivery.

These program initiatives will focus on the processes, procedures and tools within the programmatic end-to-end data center delivery plan and execution process of our hyper-scale capital improvement projects.

• Participate in and create a program initiative charter, working with internal stakeholders to strategize, plan, and prioritize objectives and success criteria, estimate task durations, and ensure schedules and dependencies are aligned and support those objectives.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in program management.
• 8 years of experience designing, constructing, or managing infrastructure projects.
• Experience creating infrastructure designs (e.g., telecom, electrical, mechanical), drawing sets for builds, and remodels of data center networking spaces.

• Experience interacting with various government and regulatory bodies.
• Experience in change management and communication strategy.
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills, with the ability to construct, articulate, and defend simple messages or insights from analysis.
