Job summary

Google is seeking a Central Operations Construction Technical Program Manager to lead multi-disciplinary data center programs from planning to execution in Singapore.

You will drive requirements, manage schedules, and communicate tradeoffs with engineers and executives while coordinating with DCDE teams to deliver efficient data centers globally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or equivalent practical experience required.
  • 8 years in program management.
  • 8 years designing, constructing, or managing infrastructure projects.
  • Experience creating infrastructure designs and drawing sets for data center spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Data Center teams to meet audit and compliance standards.
  • Coordinate, manage, and execute onsite audits with stakeholders.
  • Improve practices to support compliance and audit needs.
  • Develop communication and rollout strategy for management and execution teams.
  • Create program initiative charters and align schedules and objectives.

Job description

Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program management.
  • 8 years of experience designing, constructing, or managing infrastructure projects.
  • Experience creating infrastructure designs (e.g., telecom, electrical, mechanical), drawing sets for builds, and remodels of data center networking spaces.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience interacting with various government and regulatory bodies.
  • Experience in change management and communication strategy.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills, with the ability to construct, articulate, and defend simple messages or insights from analysis.

You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Data Center Delivery and Execution (DCDE) team is a collection of Data Center Design/Engineering/Construction experts. Also included are Project/Data Center Services/Project Controls and Front-End-Planning managers who establish and construct the most efficient data centers in the world.

As a Central Operations Construction Technical Program Manager (TPM), you will be deeply involved in multiple strategic and tactical projects and programs focused on improving our data center planning and execution.

You will focus on partner programs which means you will be deeply involved in multiple strategic and tactical efforts focused on improving our data center planning and execution. Additionally, you will organize and manage program initiatives through completion including successfully delivering and communicating to the business operational improvements, technical insertion opportunities, machine learning progress, and cross-functional programs at project delivery.

These program initiatives will focus on the processes, procedures and tools within the programmatic end-to-end data center delivery plan and execution process of our hyper-scale capital improvement projects.

Responsibilities
  • Partner closely with Data Center teams to ensure their programs meet audit and compliance standards, preparing them for future audits.
  • Coordinate, manage, and execute onsite audits from various sources (e.g., customer, insurance, etc.) with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Enhance, transform, create, or deprecate practices and processes to effectively support organizational compliance and audit requirements.
  • Develop communication and roll out strategy to both management and execution teams including training, direct engagement and general awareness notifications.
  • Participate in and create a program initiative charter, working with internal stakeholders to strategize, plan, and prioritize objectives and success criteria, estimate task durations, and ensure schedules and dependencies are aligned and support those objectives.
