Job summary

Google Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead complex, multi-disciplinary network projects across Asia. You’ll plan requirements, identify risks, manage schedules, and communicate with cross-functional partners and executives.

You will drive topology planning, data-driven analyses, and cross-team collaboration to optimize expansion and cost efficiency of Google’s network infrastructure in the Asia region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in technical projects or program management.
• 5 years of experience in optical network design and capacity planning.
• Experience in design of optical networks and traffic simulations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal business and cross-functional networking technical teams to identify and define tactical and strategic initiatives necessary to meet Google's network infrastructure needs for both expansion and cost optimization across Asia.
• Perform data driven analysis to develop network topology plan.
• Present network plans for approval by all internal stakeholders. Plan complexity will range from short-term metro augments to long-term region-wide strategies for Google network in Asia.
• Project manage the approved network plan with internal contributors such as network negotiators or vendor delivery managers to ensure infrastructure is delivered on-time.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to define and improve business processes to enable automation, reduce lead time and manage changes.

You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
