Job summary

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Technical Lead with strong expertise in Golang to lead the design and development of scalable, reliable backend systems.

This is a technical leadership role for an engineer who enjoys staying close to the code while also providing architectural direction, driving engineering standards, and mentoring other engineers. You will work closely with product and engineering teams to solve complex technical problems and build systems that are designed for scale and long-term maintainability.

What You'll Do

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of backend services using Golang.
• Stay hands-on with coding, code reviews, debugging, and technical problem-solving.
• Translate business and product requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Drive system design decisions around scalability, reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Design and build APIs, distributed services, and event-driven systems.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across applications, databases, and services.
• Take ownership of production issues, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Establish and promote engineering best practices across development, testing, and deployment.
• Work closely with DevOps/infrastructure teams on cloud deployment, monitoring, and operational reliability.
• Mentor engineers through technical guidance, design reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Lead technical initiatives and help shape the team's engineering roadmap.

What You'll Bring

• Strong professional experience building production-grade backend systems in Golang.
• Excellent understanding of Go concurrency, goroutines, channels, memory management, profiling, and performance optimization.
• Strong knowledge of backend architecture, system design, and distributed systems.
• Experience building and scaling REST APIs and backend services.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Experience with messaging, streaming, or event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience with observability, logging, monitoring, and production troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of scalability, resilience, availability, and failure handling.
• Experience working on high-volume or real-time systems.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across engineering and product teams.
• Experience with Java or other backend languages is a plus.
