Job summary

DIRECT SEARCH ASIA PTE. LTD. seeks a highly skilled 2-Stroke Engine Troubleshooter / Technical Expert to support field service across the region. This role requires extensive hands-on experience with 2-stroke marine engines, complex troubleshooting, engine overhauls, and technical support.

The successful candidate will mentor field service engineers, support customers, and drive continuous improvements in products and service delivery, coordinating field activities and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead field service teams as technical lead for complex repairs and major overhauls.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, inspection, maintenance, overhaul, repair and commissioning of 2-stroke engines.
• Support critical vessel situations, including emergency breakdowns and high-priority service requests.
• Develop advanced troubleshooting procedures and RCA reports.
• Coordinate field service activities, spare parts requirements, and technical documentation.

About the Role

Our client, a global leader in marine propulsion and engine technology, is seeking an experienced 2-Stroke Engine Troubleshooter / Technical Expert to support field service operations and provide advanced technical expertise across the region.

This role is ideal for a highly skilled marine engineer with extensive hands-on experience in 2-stroke marine engines, complex troubleshooting, engine overhauls, and technical support. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting customers, mentoring field service engineers, and driving continuous improvements in products and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Field Service & Troubleshooting

• Lead field service teams as the technical lead for complex repairs, prolonged service jobs, and major overhaul projects.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, inspection, maintenance, overhaul, repair, and commissioning of 2-stroke marine engines.
• Support critical vessel situations, including emergency breakdowns, drifting vessels, and other high-priority service requests.
• Develop advanced troubleshooting procedures, repair methodologies, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports.
• Coordinate field service activities, spare parts requirements, and technical documentation to ensure successful project execution.
• Identify and develop new service sales opportunities through technical expertise and customer engagement.
