Qualifications

• Diploma as specified in the Requirements section.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in vessel construction, repair, conversion, shipyard operations, offshore projects, or marine engineering.
• Knowledge of vessel chartering, dry-docking, vessel refit, maintenance planning, and technical project execution.
• Familiarity with maritime regulations, classification society requirements, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Vessel Chartering & Mobilization: coordinate sourcing, technical evaluation, and chartering of vessels.
• Vessel Refit, Conversion & Upgrades: plan refurbishment, modification, and upgrades with shipyards and contractors.
• Technical Project Management: support planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out of vessel projects.
• Fleet Technical Management: monitor vessel condition, maintenance planning, and regulatory compliance.
• Procurement & Cost Control: assist budgeting and procurement of equipment and services.

Job Purpose

The Technical Executive is responsible for supporting fleet technical management activities, including vessel chartering, mobilization, refurbishment, maintenance planning, and project execution. The role works closely with senior engineers, shipyards, vessel owners, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure vessels are operationally ready, technically compliant, and delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

This position provides hands-on exposure to fleet management, vessel lifecycle support, marine project management, and technical operations within the maritime industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Vessel Chartering & Mobilization
• Coordinate the sourcing, technical evaluation, and chartering of vessels to support operational requirements.
• Assess vessel suitability against project specifications, operational needs, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage vessel onboarding, mobilization, and deployment readiness activities.
• Liaise with vessel owners, operators, brokers, and chartering partners on technical and operational matters.
• Support vessel inspections and pre-mobilization assessments.

Vessel Refit, Conversion & Upgrades

• Plan and coordinate vessel refurbishment, conversion, modification, and upgrade projects.
• Work closely with senior engineers, shipyards, and contractors to define project scope, schedules, budgets, and technical requirements.
• Oversee the installation and integration of mission-specific equipment, robotics systems, and operational enhancements.
• Monitor shipyard activities and project progress to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and within schedule.
• Support commissioning, sea trials, inspections, and vessel acceptance processes.

Technical Project Management

• Support project planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out activities for vessel-related projects.
• Track project schedules, budgets, procurement activities, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including operations, engineering, procurement, vendors, and offshore personnel.
• Prepare project progress reports and management updates.
• Identify technical risks and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

Fleet Technical Management

• Monitor fleet performance, vessel condition, and operational readiness.
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance planning for vessels and associated equipment.
• Maintain technical records, maintenance histories, certification status, and asset documentation.
• Assist in vessel lifecycle management and long-term technical planning.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for vessel-related operational issues.
• Regulatory Compliance & Stakeholder Management
• Coordinate with Classification Societies, Flag Administrations, shipyards, and regulatory authorities.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, class, client, and company requirements.
• Support vessel audits, inspections, surveys, and certification renewals.
• Review technical documents, engineering drawings, specifications, and contractor submissions.
• Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders throughout project execution.

Procurement & Cost Control

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control activities for vessel projects and maintenance programs.
• Coordinate with the Senior Procurement Executive on the procurement of equipment, spare parts, subcontractor services, and technical support.
• Evaluate technical proposals, vendor quotations, and contractor capabilities.
• Monitor project expenditures and support cost optimization initiatives while maintaining quality and safety standards.
