Job Description
Lead and manage a team of Relationship Managers and Relationship Management Assistants to expand the client base and Assets Under Management (AUM). Explore and introduce new products that meet client needs while promoting and building a unique branding for Schroders Wealth Management. Source and onboard new clients, understanding their objectives and risk profiles, and advise on investment ideas and wealth‑management services with a focus on suitability and timely execution. Conduct regular portfolio and risk reviews, maintain high acceptance of risk and compliance, cross‑border, and AML regulations, and deliver an excellent client experience that builds lasting relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Relationship Managers and Relationship Management Assistants, recruiting and training new staff.
- Conduct regular reviews with RMs to develop and expand the client base and AUM.
- Build, maintain and expand a network of clients, introducing them to the Schroders company and Wealth Management platform.
- Ensure thorough due‑diligence including KYC and Statements of Work at client onboarding and throughout the relationship.
- Provide exceptional advice, service, and recommendations to clients, focused on understanding their needs, objectives, and risk tolerance.
- Develop personalized wealth‑management solutions and investment ideas.
- Enable clients to make informed financial decisions by providing clear, relevant, and timely information.
- Ensure fair dealing with customers.
- Submit progress reports, including existing business and prospect pipeline, on a regular, timely basis.
- File call reports promptly following client meetings or conversations.
- Communicate and collaborate with investment and treasury departments, giving input for generating new investment/product ideas.
- Attend regulatory and in‑house training sessions and pass regulatory licensing requirements.
- Provide back‑up and assistance to other team members during leave or when stationed elsewhere.
- Source and assist in organizing small‑scale marketing events (investment forums, social gatherings, sports events).
- Follow up on referral business.
- Adhere to regulatory and bank policies, guided by the Advisory Handbook, cross‑border rules, AML guidelines and relevant risk/compliance procedures, reporting irregularities or red flags promptly.
- Stay updated on latest capital‑market and industry developments.
- Represent the Schroders brand and values in the market.
Requirements / Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in wealth management, investment advisory and/or relationship management (HNW/UHNW).
- Recognised university degree.
- Relevant regulatory licences and certifications applicable to Singapore wealth‑management advisory (e.g., CMFAS modules; CACS desirable where relevant).
- Proven track record of client acquisition, retention, and revenue generation.
- CFA charterholder is an advantage.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong understanding of capital markets and investment products (funds, equities, fixed income, structured products, alternatives) and portfolio construction principles.
- Deep appreciation of suitability, fair dealing, cross‑border considerations, and AML/CFT requirements in a regulated environment.
- Excellent relationship management, consultative selling, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; able to translate market views into client‑relevant advice.
- High discipline in documentation, follow‑through, and operating within governance frameworks.
- Proactive, client‑centric, collaborative, and commercially astute.
