Job summary

The Perse School (Singapore) invites applications for a committed Drama Teacher (Primary). The successful candidate will teach Drama mainly in Pelicans and Junior School, with opportunities to coordinate school performances.

Open to Early Career Teachers and those new to an international context. We seek individuals with a genuine passion for the subject, dedication to excellence, and the ability to deliver creative, engaging lessons in a diverse, multicultural environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with a recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, PGDE, PGCEi, NIE Diploma, or equivalent).
• At least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in UK/UK/IB international school settings.
• Strong understanding of the International Cambridge or English National Curriculum for primary/secondary programmes.
• Experience of supporting students where English may be an additional language.
• Ability to engage, motivate and inspire students through subject knowledge, high standards and differentiated learning opportunities.
• Ability to contribute to school life beyond the classroom, including trips, clubs and cultural events.
• Excellent communication skills.

Job description

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teacher of Drama (Primary School) to join our team in August 2027 . The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Drama lessons primarily in the Pelicans and Junior School.

The ability to jointly coordinate high-quality school performances and productions would be highly advantageous.

This post is also available to Early Career Teachers (ECTs), and teachers who would be new to the internationally context.

This role requires a genuine passion and depth of knowledge of the subject, commitment to excellence, and the ability to deliver creative and engaging lessons within a truly diverse, multicultural learning environment.

Various leadership posts exist within the school including Subject Leads , Heads of Department and Year Leaders for suitably experienced staff. We ask that candidates address this within their applications should they be interested in leadership roles.
