Job summary

MINDS is seeking a Teacher Assistant for Fernvale Gardens School in Singapore. You will support classroom activities, help prepare learning materials, and ensure a safe, encouraging environment for students aged 7–18 with learning difficulties.

You will work closely with teachers to monitor progress, implement behavioural plans, and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum GCE 'O' Levels 3 credits or equivalent.
• WPLN Level 5 in Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing and Numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating a clean, safe and conducive learning environment.
• Assist teachers in preparing and producing learning materials.
• Assist and guide students in carrying out instructions and activities during lessons.
• Build a strong relationship with students by exhibiting care, concern and encouragement.
• Support teachers in determining individualised goals for each student to enhance their development.
• Assist teachers in data collection to understand student profiles and monitor progress.
• Implement students' behavioural plans and support in managing student behaviours under teacher supervision.
• Proactively engage in professional development activities to facilitate ongoing knowledge and skills development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Teacher Assistant at Fernvale Gardens School supports classroom activities by preparing materials, assisting students during lessons, and maintaining a safe learning environment.

The role also involves building positive student relationships, supporting teachers in monitoring progress and behaviour, and participating in ongoing learning and development.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum GCE ‘O' Levels 3 credits; or
• Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 in Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing and Numeracy.

OTHER INFORMATION

• Passionate about each child's personal growth and open to new and innovative methods of teaching
• Able to work with children/youth ranging from 7 - 18 years of age with one or more learning difficulties
• Good communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work in a team with social workers, therapist and other teaching colleagues
