Job summary

Direct Search Global is seeking an Operations Executive to support tanker operations, voyage administration, and chartering activities, with exposure to market research, commercial analysis and strategic projects.

You will monitor vessel movements, coordinate with Masters and agents, assist with laytime calculations, prepare invoices, and compile operational data for reports and business analysis, developing a long-term maritime career.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Maritime Studies, Business, Finance, Economics, Logistics, Engineering or related discipline.
• 1–2 years of hands-on vessel operations experience.
• Exposure to tanker operations or laytime calculations is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Office.
• Organised and proactive, able to manage competing deadlines.
• Willingness to learn and build a long-term maritime career.

Responsibilities

• Support daily tanker operations, monitoring vessel movements and schedules.
• Coordinate with Masters, agents, terminals and counterparties on operational matters.
• Assist with laytime and demurrage calculations, checking Statements of Facts and Notices of Readiness.
• Prepare freight invoices, verify voyage details and track payments and claims.
• Maintain voyage records, commercial databases, and electronic filing systems.
• Support chartering with freight market research and fixture updates.
• Compile operational and market data for reports and business analysis.
• Assist with special projects and due diligence as required.
