Job summary

ITCAN PTE. LIMITED in Singapore is seeking a System Engineer to manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure. You will install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure high availability.

The role requires 2+ years in IT, knowledge of SFTP/security, Java web development, XML/SQL, Windows and UNIX/Linux scripting. Expect proactive uptime, patching, deployment, and regular health checks.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Computer Science, Computing, Engineering, IT or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of working experience in Information Technology.
• Good knowledge of file transfer and security technologies (SFTP, file encryption).
• Good knowledge of Java Web Application development, JEE frameworks.
• Knowledge of XML, Oracle PL/SQL and MS SQL query language.
• Knowledge of Windows administration, scripting and UNIX/LINUX cron.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
• Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
• Perform system patching, application deployment and reporting.
• Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
• Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks and work with developers to fix.
• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
• Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and reduce manual work.
• Perform SLIFT key / SFTP password / SSL and RDP certificate changes.
• Maintain the list of software inventory.
