Job summary

OPUS IT Services Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a hands-on System Maintenance Engineer to support installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and operation of electronic systems and IT infrastructure. The role involves on-site technical support, preventive and corrective maintenance, and coordinating with clients and contractors to maintain system availability.

The candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in system implementation or technical support, strong knowledge of Windows

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in system implementation, maintenance, technical support or related technical role.
• Hands-on knowledge of Windows Server and Linux systems, including operation, upgrades and maintenance.
• Understanding of end-to-end system or software lifecycle, including deployment, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills across systems, hardware and networks.
• Familiarity with site installation, preventive maintenance, testing and commissioning.
• Good communication, documentation, customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Able to provide 24x7 standby support and attend on-site incidents per SLA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance of end devices, readers, central equipment and related system components.
• Troubleshoot system, hardware and network faults; identify root causes and replace faulty components where required.
• Provide on-site support for system outages and service requests per the 2-hour response and resolution SLA.
• Operate, upgrade, patch and maintain Windows Server and Linux systems, including vulnerability remediation under senior engineer guidance.
• Support system deployment, testing, commissioning and ongoing maintenance throughout the software and system lifecycle.
• Read and interpret technical and construction drawings, including electrical, security and cable-routing layouts.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors and subcontractors on installation, maintenance and site activities.
• Prepare service reports, maintenance checklists, technical documentation, quotations and Variation Orders (VO).
• Monitor maintenance progress, provide client updates and escalate unresolved technical issues.
• Support procurement, billing milestones, operation and maintenance (O&M) documentation, and compliance with workplace safety requirements.

• ITE, Diploma or Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Infocomm Technology, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in system implementation, maintenance, technical support or a related technical role.
• Hands-on knowledge of Windows Server and Linux systems, including operation, upgrades and maintenance.
• Understanding of the end-to-end system or software lifecycle, including deployment, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills across systems, hardware and networks.
• Familiarity with site installation, preventive maintenance, testing and commissioning.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in security system integration or electronic system maintenance.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and prepare cable-routing plans, shop drawings or as-built documentation.
• Familiarity with workplace safety practices, Work-at-Height requirements and relevant industrial codes.
• Class 3 driving licence and own vehicle.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Project or other project management tools.
