Job summary

HP Singapore seeks an Electrical Engineer to design engineering solutions by applying an intermediate level of subject matter knowledge and developing and implementing test plans for low to moderately complex products. The role acts as a project team member to develop reliable, cost-effective solutions with technical judgment and meticulous attention to detail.

You will collaborate with internal and external development partners, participate in project teams, and contribute to knowledge sharing

Qualifications

  • This role requires a four-year or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Typically 2–4 years of work experience in electrical design or related field.
  • Singapore-based role with HP as a Human Capital Partner in Singapore.

Responsibilities

  • Designs portions of SCADA system and troubleshooting of PLC and Factory Talk or other relevant industrial automation software and MOM operations management.
  • Develops and implements parameters and test plans to debug defective hardware/electronic units and processes.
  • Creates plans for validation of tolerances, EMI, safety, reliability and publishes test results.
  • Collaborates with internal and outsourced partners on electrical hardware design and development.
  • Supports deviation requests and supplier quotations; contributes to project knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities
  • Designs portions of SCADA system and troubleshooting of PLC and Factory Talk or other relevant industrial automation, software, and manufacturing operations management (MOM). Knowledge of Rockwell systems is an advantage
  • Develops and implements parameters and test plans for existing designs to debug defective hardware/ electronic units, sub-assemblies, and process steps.
  • Creates plans for validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, thermal generation, and system power measurements; publishes test results.
  • Implements remediations across hardware stack according to plan, while keeping a thorough procedural record and data log.
  • Capture updates on resolutions for publishing to communicate findings internally.
  • Exercises technical judgement, creativity, and initiative with attention to detail consistently throughout work output.
  • Collaborates and communicates with internal and outsourced development partners on electrical hardware design and development.
  • Provides support with deviation requests, alternate material authorization, technical review of supplier quotations.
  • Participates as a member of project team of other electrical hardware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners for product development and knowledge sharing.
  • Contributes to building reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for low to moderately - complex products.
  • Develops conclusions, recommendations, and written reports, contributing proactively through research and data analysis support.
  • Works independently on moderate scope problems, applying professional expertise, exercising judgment, and resolving various issues by following company policies and procedures.
Education & Experience Recommended
  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically has 2-4 years of work experience, preferably in electrical design and tools, software packages, architecture of electronic hardware, or a related field or an advanced degree with little or no work experience.
