Job summary

Applied Materials in Singapore is seeking a seasoned engineer to complete definition and design of complex components, modules, and subsystems, aligning with market requirement specifications and coordinating with marketing and management to understand sub-system requirements.

You will lead architecture brainstorming, build prototypes or coordinate outsourcing, troubleshoot difficult engineering problems, support system integration, testing, and ensure reliability specs are met across

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 4-7 years of experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Complete definition and design of complex components, modules, and sub systems. Contribute to the system engineering specification within the field of expertise and broaden into other disciplines. Ensure designs meet market requirement specifications (MRS).
  • Coordinate with project marketing and management to understand sub system requirements.
  • Lead architecture brainstorming meetings and drive the systems process to down select to a final architecture of a subsystem.
  • Conduct detailed engineering analysis of sub systems using knowledge of design concepts and functional requirements across technical domains.
  • Assist in creating concepts for architectural design approaches and evaluate architectures for best system solution.
  • Build and qualify prototypes of new designs, or procure subsystems from outsourced suppliers and test for compliance with detailed specifications.
  • Identify and troubleshoot difficult engineering problems in field of technical expertise, including serviceability and manufacturability.
  • Support System Integration during assembly and final testing of new product designs.
  • Perform and coordinate tests against internal and industry-accepted reliability specifications and implement design changes as needed.
  • Support system engineering projects with electrical, mechanical, physics, algorithms and software design, understanding underlying system implications.
  • Provide remote and onsite support to field support personnel as required.

  • Assist in creating concepts for architectural design approaches. Evaluate architectures to provide recommendation for best system solution approach
  • Build and qualify prototypes of new designs, or procure entire subsystems from outsourced suppliers and test for compliance with detailed specifications
  • Identify and troubleshoot a variety of difficult engineering problems in field of technical expertise, including serviceability and manufacturability.
  • Support System Integration during the assembly and final testing of new product designs.
  • Perform and coordinate tests against internal and industry-accepted reliability specifications. Make suitable design or operational changes as required.
  • Support system engineering projects that have a substantial mix of electrical, mechanical, physics, algorithms and software design, and understand the underlying system implications.
  • Provide remote and onsite support to field support personnel as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4-7 years of experience
