Job summary

Saksoft, Singapore, is seeking an experienced System Administrator to manage Unix/Linux platforms including Red Hat, AIX and Solaris. The role involves incident response, DR testing, and cross-team coordination to ensure high availability and performance.

You will monitor server health, participate in RCA for critical incidents, and maintain documentation. Prior scripting and VMware knowledge are a plus in a fast-paced banking/financial infra context.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of Unix/Linux system administration and production support.
• Strong Unix/Linux administration and troubleshooting skills; scripting ability.
• Experience with Incident, Problem and Change Management processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform service recovery for Unix/Linux systems to ensure minimal downtime.
• Troubleshoot OS, CPU, memory, filesystem, network and performance issues.
• Manage production incidents and participate in RCA.
• Conduct Disaster Recovery testing in coordination with business and infrastructure teams.
• Monitor server health, capacity, availability and performance.
• Involved in RCA investigations for critical incidents.
• Administer and maintain servers (Red Hat, AIX, Solaris) in production and DR environments.
• Coordinate with application, database, network, storage and other infrastructure teams.
• Maintain operational procedures, documentation and knowledge articles.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support during assigned shifts and respond to severity 1 incidents.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

Required Skills

• Degree/Diploma in Information Technology/Computer Science or equivalent
• 6–8 years of experience in Unix/Linux system administration and production support.
• Strong Unix/Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of filesystem/LVM, processes, services, networking, user administration, and shell scripting.
• Experience with Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.
• Good analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and coordination skills.

Good To Have

• Good knowledge of ITIL processes, incident management and RCA methodologies.
• VMware/virtualization knowledge.
• Storage technologies such as SAN, LUN, and multipathing.
• Experience working in a bank is a plus
