Job summary

Epergne Solutions is seeking a Sybase Database Administrator (L2) in Singapore to provide L2 database administration and production support across Sybase ASE and PostgreSQL environments. The role focuses on incident resolution, performance tuning, maintenance, upgrades, and production readiness.

The candidate will manage backups, replication, scheduling, and database logs, while collaborating with application teams and IT stakeholders to drive service improvements and ITIL-aligned processes.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of relevant experience in Sybase Database Administration.
• Strong hands-on experience with Sybase ASE and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Sybase ASE 15.x and PostgreSQL 12.x or above.
• Strong knowledge of Sybase Replication Server and database clustering.
• Experience with Unix/Linux and OS-level database activities.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and SLA-driven environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 support for BAU incidents, service requests, and changes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database performance, availability, and integrity issues.
• Manage database backup, restore, maintenance, replication, and capacity planning.
• Perform database installation, upgrades, patching, and production readiness activities.
• Support application teams with database troubleshooting and development-related issues.
• Manage schemas, objects, partitions, indexes, DBCC, scheduled jobs, and database logs.
• Participate in high-severity incident resolution and root-cause analysis.
• Develop and maintain database, Shell, and Ansible scripts.
• Follow ITSM/ITIL processes and maintain SLA-driven service delivery.
• Collaborate with technical teams, developers, architects, and project stakeholders.

Role Summary:-

Required Skills & Experience:-

• Knowledge of Control-M or similar scheduling/monitoring tools.
• Experience with Ansible, Shell scripting, DB scripting, and preferably Python/PowerShell/T-SQL.
• Strong understanding of ITSM/ITIL processes and SLA-driven environments.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a changing operational environment.

Desirable

• Sybase or PostgreSQL certification.
• Previous experience supporting banking or other high-volume transactional environments.
