Job summary

Empower Partners Singapore, in collaboration with a regional bank, seeks a Senior Vice President to lead its loan syndication for Singapore. The role will oversee origination, structuring, underwriting, and distribution of syndicated and club loans across Asia.

The candidate will manage a syndication platform, build lender relationships, and guide a team to execute complex transactions while monitoring market dynamics and providing market intelligence.

Qualifications

• Degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business or related field.
• 15+ years of banking experience with loan syndication, loan distribution or structured/corporate finance.

Job description

We are partnering with an established regional bank to appoint a SVP, Loan Syndication for its Singapore business. The role will lead the bank’s loan syndication activities, covering the origination, structuring, underwriting and distribution of syndicated and club loan transactions across Asia.

Responsibilities

• Originate, structure, underwrite and distribute syndicated and club loan transactions across corporate and institutional clients.
• Develop syndication, pricing and distribution strategies based on transaction requirements and prevailing market conditions.
• Work closely with Relationship Managers and Capital Solutions teams to identify and structure suitable syndicated financing opportunities.
• Lead discussions with participating banks and institutional lenders throughout the syndication process.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with regional and international banks, financial institutions and other loan market participants.
• Oversee transaction execution including term sheet negotiation, documentation, allocation and closing.
• Monitor syndicated loan market trends, pricing and liquidity to provide market intelligence to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the syndication team and contribute to the broader growth of the bank’s regional financing franchise.

Requirements

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business or a related discipline.
• Approximately 15+ years of relevant banking experience, with significant experience in Loan Syndication, Loan Distribution or Structured / Corporate Finance.
• Strong track record in originating, structuring and distributing syndicated loan transactions.
• Deep understanding of the Asian syndicated loan market, including pricing, underwriting and distribution dynamics.
• Established network across regional and international banks and financial institutions.
• Strong credit, structuring and transaction execution capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage complex transactions and engage senior internal and external stakeholders.
• Leadership experience with the ability to build and develop a syndication platform and team.
