Job summary

Leica Microsystems is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure supplier quality performance, audits, CAPA, and continuous improvement from Singapore. The role is on-site and reports to the Regulatory Affairs / Quality Assurance organization.

You will qualify suppliers, lead SCARs and CAPA activities, and collaborate with teams to meet regulatory and customer requirements while maintaining robust quality systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering or related technical discipline.
• Multiple years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing, or engineering environments.
• Understanding of statistical quality control, metrology, inspection techniques, and measurement systems.
• Experience conducting supplier audits, supplier qualification activities and corrective action management.

Responsibilities

The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring supplier quality performance through supplier qualification, audits, corrective action management, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role drives defect prevention, variation reduction, and supplier quality excellence to ensure materials and processes consistently meet customer, regulatory, and business requirements. This role shall be responsible for incoming processes, managing and providing guidance to technician.

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Supplier Quality and is part of the Regulatory Affairs / Quality Assurance organization located in Singapore and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Qualify new suppliers providing critical components and special processes to ensure compliance with product requirements.

• Conduct supplier audits and assessments to verify compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

• Lead Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities, and effectiveness reviews.

• Analyze supplier quality performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve supplier capabilities.

• Establish and standardize inspection methods, measurement systems, and quality controls with suppliers.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent applicable experience.

• Multiple years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing, assembly operations, or engineering environments.

• Understanding of statistical quality control methods, metrology, inspection techniques, engineering drawings, and measurement systems.

• Experience conducting supplier audits, supplier qualification activities, and corrective action management

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001; familiarity with ISO 13485, FDA QSR/cGMP (21 CFR Part 820), and ISO 14971 are advantageous.
