Job summary

Keywords Studios is expanding its Southeast Asia team and seeks an experienced Environment Artist for a stylized mobile game project. The role can be based in Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam (Remote), or Singapore (Onsite) with remote/hybrid options.

You will create high-quality environment art, focus on lighting, mood, and atmosphere, optimize lighting setups, and collaborate across art direction, level design and tech art.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a stylized Environment Artist on high-quality mobile game projects.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating lighting, composition, and environment art fundamentals.
• Proficiency with modern game engines (Unreal, Unity or proprietary engines).
• Solid understanding of lighting theory, color, exposure, and real-time rendering.
• Experience with PBR workflows and optimization for real-time environments.
• Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and iterate quickly based on feedback.

Responsibilities

• Creates high-quality environment art with emphasis on lighting, mood, and atmosphere.
• Builds, iterates, and optimises lighting setups that support gameplay, narrative, and artistic direction.
• Collaborates with art direction, level design, and tech art to enhance spatial readability and performance.
• Authors and maintains lighting passes, post-processing profiles, and environment shaders/materials.
• Troubleshoots lighting issues related to performance and technical constraints across platforms.
• Contributes to visual benchmarks and best practices for lighting workflows.
