Keywords Studios Asia is seeking an experienced Environment Artist to join an exciting, unannounced AAA project. The role supports environments across multiple APAC locations with remote/hybrid options.

You will collaborate closely with art direction, level design and tech art to build visually impressive worlds. We value a strong 5+ year track record on shipped titles, a robust portfolio, and proficiency in Unreal or Unity, with solid lighting and PBR workflows.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Environment Artist on shipped AAA/high-quality projects.
• Strong portfolio showing environment art fundamentals and processes.
• Proficiency with Unreal, Unity or proprietary engines.
• Good lighting experience and understanding of baking and performance.
• Experience with PBR workflows and real-time optimization.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality environment art for AAA titles.
• Build, iterate and optimize environments supporting gameplay and narrative.
• Collaborate with art direction, level design and tech art for performant worlds.
• Apply modular/kit-based approaches to environment art.

Keywords Studios Asia is currently looking to expand its team. We're currently looking for AAA-experienced Environment Artists.

Keywords Studios is a global leader providing art services to AAA Publishers. Our work can be seen across many of the top-selling titles on console and PC. We've secured an exciting AAA IP project and are anticipating further project announcements early in 2026. You'll get to work alongside seasoned developers bringing expertise from world-class AAA studios.

At Keywords Studios, we are looking for an accomplished, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Environment Artist to join our team working on an exciting, new, and unannounced project.

This position may be offered as either a permanent or fixed-term contract role, depending on the project's requirements, business needs, and the candidate's experience and level. These opportunities can be located in either Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam (Remote), or Singapore (Onsite).

Only those with relevant working rights for Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Singapore will be considered. Sponsorship and relocation are not being offered as part of this package.

What you will do:

• Create high-quality environment art
• Build, iterate, and optimise environments that support gameplay, narrative, and artistic direction.
• Collaborate closely with art direction, level design, and tech art to build performant and visually impressive worlds
• Good understanding of modular and kit-based approaches to environment art
• Troubleshoots issues related to performance, consistency, or technical constraints across platforms.
• Contributes to visual benchmarks and helps establish best practices for environment art workflows.
• Has a good understanding of textures and materials and how to optimally create and apply them across an environment

Requirements

What you will need to be considered:

• Proven experience as an Environment Artist (5+ years) on a shipped AAA or high-quality game project.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating environment art fundamentals and processes
• Proficiency with modern game engines (Unreal, Unity or proprietary engines).
• Lighting experience, has general understanding of lighting workflows (baking, performance impacts)
• Experience with PBR workflows and optimization for real-time environments.
• Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and iterate quickly based on feedback.
• Experience profiling/debugging, or scripting for workflow automation.
• You must have the appropriate working rights to live and work in Malaysia or Indonesia. Sponsorship is not being offered.
