Job summary

YMCA of Singapore is seeking a patient, cheerful teaching assistant to support classroom activities with children at locations near MRT stations across Singapore. The role is part-time with a five-day work week, offering a dynamic learning environment and opportunities to contribute to student development.

You will assist with lesson planning, supervise activities, help maintain safety and a positive atmosphere, and support teachers in delivering engaging educational experiences.

Qualifications

• Student care / tutoring experience is advantageous.
• Patient and passionate about teaching children.
• Friendly and cheerful with good interpersonal skills and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare classroom environment and set up materials.
• Supervise activities to stimulate interest and understanding.
• Prepare course objectives and outline per guidelines.
• Demonstrate and use teaching aids to present subject matter.
• Keep attendance and grade records.
• Assign lessons, prepare and correct tests, record results.
• Maintain classroom and playground order.
• Foster social behaviour through games and group projects.
• Encourage singing, dancing and stimulating lessons.
