Job summary

COENS ENERGY PTE. LTD. is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to review and prepare shop drawings for RC structural works and temporary works, ensuring compliance with project specs.

You will coordinate with civil consultants, ACs, architects, and site teams to resolve design issues. The role requires a degree in civil/structural engineering and at least five years in consultancy, with preferred experience on infrastructure and LTA projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant consultancy experience in civil, building, and structural design.
• Experience in infrastructure projects is mandatory.
• Experience in LTA projects is highly preferred.
• Site experience in underground roadway, tunnel, or underground infrastructure projects is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Job description

Review design packages and prepare, review, and approve shop drawings for reinforced concrete (RC) structural works and temporary works , including struts, walers, and related support systems.

Coordinate structural design matters with relevant stakeholders, including:

• Civil consultants
• Accredited Checkers (AC)
• Architectural and SWC consultants
• Construction and site teams
• Relevant authorities, where required

• Carry out and coordinate the design of temporary works related to structural engineering requirements.
• Support the project team in resolving design-related issues and technical queries.
• Manage and resolve matters relating to production, quality, design, engineering, and project schedule.
• Ensure design works comply with project specifications, applicable codes, standards, and authority requirements.
• Review technical submissions, drawings, calculations, and design documentation to ensure accuracy and constructability.
• Work closely with consultants and construction teams to ensure timely resolution of design and coordination issues.
• Perform other engineering and project-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering , or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant civil engineering consultancy experience in civil, building, and structural design works.
• Experience in infrastructure projects is mandatory .
• Experience in LTA projects is highly preferred.
• Site experience in underground roadway, tunnel, or underground infrastructure projects is an advantage.
• Strong experience in structural design management and coordination with consultants.
• Previous experience working within a consultancy environment is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, design calculations, and temporary works.
• Proficient in structural design and analysis software such as STAAD .
• Proficient in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation .
• Good understanding of relevant authority requirements, engineering codes, and design standards.
• Strong coordination, technical problem-solving, communication, and design management skills.
• Able to work effectively with consultants, contractors, construction teams, and relevant authorities.
