Job summary

VSL Singapore Pte Ltd invites engineers to design temporary structures for major civil projects, mainly bridges. You will work with engineers and drafters in a multi‑discipline center in Singapore, applying international standards and coordinating with methods and mechanical teams.

Ideal candidates hold a civil engineering degree, 4+ years of relevant experience, and knowledge of structural design software.

Qualifications

Degree in civil engineering.
At least 4 years on permanent or temporary works design.
Steel structures design experience.
Repair and strengthening projects will be a plus.
Knowledge of international standards (EN, BS, AS, HK, etc.) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Carry out designs of temporary structures as directed by Engineer in Charge or Department Manager.
Designs based on international standards (EN, BS, AS, HK, etc.).
Coordinate with Methods and/or Mechanical Departments during development of designs.
Ensure quality, time, organization and cost targets as Engineer in Charge.
Manage engineering and drafting manpower with regard to quality, schedule and manhours spent.
Check work by team members and organize project technical review meetings.
Identify variation works and propose timeframe and budget for approval.
Track deadlines, monitor progress and inform on changes.
Assess and mitigate technical risks; seek advice from senior staff when needed.
