Job summary

Sea in Singapore seeks a senior Compute & Storage Specialist to manage compute and storage procurement and act as the primary interface with suppliers and internal customers. You will lead qualification, evaluation, selection and negotiation on commercial aspects to secure high-quality, cost-efficient infrastructure.

You will collaborate with internal teams and vendors on POC tests and validation, driving performance, efficiency and TCO improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT or engineering, or other relevant fields.
• 10+ years of relevant full-time experience in compute and storage domain is required.
• Strong understanding of components, system constructs, high-level architecture and use cases in Internet companies.
• Market landscape knowledge is preferred.
• Proven working experience in procurement is an added advantage.

As a Compute & Storage Specialist in Sea Infrastructure, you will be responsible for compute and storage related procurement, supporting the requirement from various business units. You will serve as the primary interface and act as the process owner responsible for managing suppliers and internal customers. In this position, you will play a key role in procuring high-quality and cost-efficient infrastructure products/services for the organization.

Job Description:

• Assist in planning, developing and implementing comprehensive IT infrastructure strategies tailored to the business needs and prospects, with a focus on compute and storage products, including but not limited to server, storage, and its components (e.g. CPU/GPU SSD, RAM, transceivers, etc) as well as associated software and licenses.
• Conduct market research to advise on the infrastructure investment, purchase model, and relevant technologies to improve the performance, efficiency and the total cost of ownership based on the company’s business strategy
• Adopt industrial standards and best practices; drive and govern related frameworks, SOPs and templates/checklists within the Infra team to optimize the organization’s IT operations process.
• Work with internal technical teams and external vendors on the Proof-of-Concept (POC) test and assist on the qualification process and requirement validation.
• Lead the qualification, evaluation, selection, negotiation processes on commercial aspects.
• Work with other stakeholders on delivery of service and post-sales support improvements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT or engineering, or other relevant fields
• Minimum 10 years of relevant full-time experience in compute and storage domain
• Strong understanding of components, system constructs, high-level architecture, and use cases within Internet companies.
• Market landscape knowledge is preferred
• Proven working experience in the procurement capacity is an added advantage
