Job summary

EASTERN HARVEST FOODS (SINGAPORE) PTE. LTD. is seeking a purchaser with solid experience to manage sourcing, vendor negotiations, and demand forecasting to ensure cost efficiency and supply continuity.

You will build supplier relationships, analyse costs, monitor inventory, and collaborate with internal teams to meet business goals in a fast-paced environment at our Singapore location.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Business Administration or similar field.
• Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience.
• Proficient in building and maintaining effective relationships with staff, stakeholders, and suppliers.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Strong analytical and numerical acumen with demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
• Capable of performing well under pressure and able to handle emergency and stressful situations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Purchase goods, materials, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery schedules.
• Conduct research on potential products, vendors, and services, comparing price and quality to ensure the best deal.
• Study and analyze product consumption and market development to forecast demand.
• Negotiate contract terms and pricing with vendors.
• Monitor inventory levels and place orders promptly to ensure supply availability.
• Track orders to ensure timely delivery.
• Inspect purchased products upon delivery and report any issues promptly.
• Verify documents for compliance with company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures, and government regulations.
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure smooth processes related to products.
• Track product sales and provide guidelines and support to sales teams to boost sales.
• Provide cost analysis for new and existing products and review cost reduction activities.
• Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships, ensuring effective communications.
