Job summary

MINDEF in Singapore seeks a communications professional to lead a team supporting office holders, collaborating with the press secretary to plan campaigns and manage events with internal and external stakeholders.

You will develop and execute comprehensive communications plans, guide media interviews, press conferences, and speeches; conduct pre-event recces; and monitor media coverage to ensure accurate reporting. Strong English and multilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• Education in Communication Studies, Political Science, Social Sciences, or related fields.
• At least 6 years of relevant working experience.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
• Proficiency in a second language (Mandarin, Malay, Tamil) is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to support MINDEF office holders and assist the press secretary in event management.
• Develop plans to execute communications campaigns with internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage media interviews, press conferences, and courtesy calls.
• Conduct pre-event recces and liaise with external media.
• Develop collaterals to supplement events and issue speeches/photos.
• Monitor media coverage and ensure accuracy of event reporting.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to policy and political implications while understanding operational considerations.
