Job summary

Seagate Singapore International Headquarters Pte. Ltd. is seeking a seasoned Commodity Manager to develop global strategies for HDD components and manage supplier networks.

You will lead negotiations, cost analyses, and supplier performance reviews with cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, finance and legal. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in commodity management or strategic sourcing, with experience in electronics or precision mechanical industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in commodity management, strategic sourcing, procurement or related roles.
• Experience in HDD, electronics, precision mechanical, automotive, semiconductor or advanced manufacturing industries preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in supplier negotiations, cost analysis, contracts, and supplier performance management.
• Technical understanding of mechanical drawings, manufacturing processes, tooling, tolerances, materials, finishes, and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute global commodity strategies for HDD mechanical components and assemblies.
• Lead supplier selection, sourcing events, should-cost analyses, negotiations and contracting.
• Own supplier relationships, set performance expectations, conduct business reviews, drive improvements.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality, finance, legal and site teams to translate requirements into sourcing plans.
• Support new product introductions, part qualifications, and ramping production.
• Monitor market conditions, costs, capacity, lead times, and geopolitical developments to identify risks and opportunities.
• Lead supply risk mitigation, business continuity, alternate sourcing, and capacity strategies.
• Drive cost-reduction through negotiation, supplier consolidation, and value engineering.
• Ensure supplier processes meet quality, engineering, compliance and responsible-sourcing requirements.
• Provide updates to senior management on strategy, supplier performance and savings.
