Job summary

Lumilens is seeking an experienced Director of Capital Equipment Sourcing & Procurement to lead strategy, negotiation, and execution of all capital equipment purchases. This leadership role oversees millions in annual spend, supplier relationships, and processes ensuring timely delivery at the right cost and specification.

You will partner with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Facilities to translate technical requirements into sourcing strategies, manage a vendor portfolio, and drive cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, SCM, Business, or related field.
• 10+ years in procurement or sourcing, with 3–5 years in capital equipment.
• Proven track record negotiating large, complex capital equipment contracts.
• Strong technical fluency to read equipment specs and engage with engineering teams.
• Deep understanding of RFQ/RFP, vendor qualification, installation/commissioning, and warranty management.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management across all levels.
• Experience managing capital budgets and ROI models.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies for capital equipment.
• Identify, qualify, and manage a global supplier base; negotiate pricing and terms.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to define specs and evaluate proposals.
• Lead complex negotiations for capital equipment purchases including delivery/installation support.
• Own the capital budget with forecasting and ROI analysis.
• Manage procurement risk and ensure compliance with policy and regulatory requirements.
• Build and improve procurement processes and leverage ERP systems.
• Hire and mentor a sourcing team as the function scales.
• Establish KPIs and scorecards to monitor supplier performance.
• Identify cost savings and total-cost-of-ownership improvements.
