Job summary

HR SG PTE. LTD. is seeking experienced Steam Boiler Attendants to monitor and manage steam boiler systems at a client site in Singapore. The role focuses on safe operation, continuous monitoring, and timely reporting of any anomalies.

You will perform routine checks, maintain accurate logs, and escalate issues according to site procedures. The position requires a Class 1/2 Boiler Attendant certification and prior boiler operations experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold Class 1 or Class 2 Steam Boiler Attendant certification.
• Experience as Steam Boiler Attendant or Boilerman.
• Ability to monitor gauges and readings accurately and identify abnormal conditions.
• Willingness to work 12-hour rotating day/night shifts on a 4-on/4-off roster.

Responsibilities

• Monitor steam boiler systems and readings during assigned shift.
• Carry out routine checks on boiler pressure, temperature and water levels.
• Record and maintain boiler readings and shift logs.
• Identify and report abnormal readings or conditions to the HQ or relevant team.
• Escalate safety concerns and support safe start-up, operation and shutdown per procedures.
• Maintain shift handover records and communicate observations to incoming shift.
• Respond promptly to boiler alarms per established procedures.

Company Overview

Our client is a Singapore-based mechanical engineering company providing equipment, installation and technical support for mechanical and engineering systems. They are currently looking for experienced Steam Boiler Attendants / Boilermen to be deployed at a client site to support the safe and reliable operation of steam boiler systems.

Role Overview

This is primarily a site-based monitoring role focused on ensuring that steam boiler equipment is operating within safe and acceptable parameters. You will be responsible for monitoring boiler readings, carrying out routine operating checks and promptly reporting any abnormal readings or operating conditions to the relevant team. The role is generally monitoring-focused and is not expected to involve intensive physical work under normal operating conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor steam boiler systems and operating parameters during the assigned shift.
• Conduct routine checks on boiler pressure, temperature, water levels and other relevant operating readings.
• Record and maintain accurate boiler operating readings and shift logs.
• Identify abnormal readings, alarms or operating conditions and promptly report them to the relevant personnel or HQ.
• Escalate equipment abnormalities or potential safety concerns according to established procedures.
• Support safe start-up, operation and shutdown procedures where required.
• Ensure boiler operations comply with site safety procedures and operational requirements.
• Maintain proper shift handover records and communicate relevant observations to the incoming shift.
• Respond appropriately to boiler alarms or operational irregularities in accordance with established procedures.
• Perform other boiler monitoring and operational duties as required.

Requirements

• Must possess a Class 1 or Class 2 Steam Boiler Attendant qualification/certification acceptable for the site's boiler manning requirements.
• Must have previous experience as a Steam Boiler Attendant, Boilerman or in a similar boiler operations role.
• Able to monitor gauges, meters and operating readings accurately and identify unusual operating conditions.
• Basic understanding of steam boiler operation and workplace safety procedures.
• Responsible, alert and able to work independently during assigned shifts.
• Able to maintain accurate operating logs and communicate abnormalities clearly.
• Comfortable working 12-hour rotating day and night shifts under a 4-day work / 4-day rest roster.
• Candidates with previous boiler operations experience who are returning to the workforce are welcome to apply.

Shift Hours: 12-hour rotating shifts

7:30 AM - 7:30 PM (Morning Shift)

7:30 PM - 7:30 AM (Night Shift)

Schedule: (2x morning shift, 2x night shift, rest 4 days)
