Job summary

GMP Technologies Singapore is seeking a Shift Boiler Operator to operate and maintain the boiler system and related utilities at a new pharma plant start-up. You will ensure smooth daily operations, monitor performance, and comply with HSE and GMP requirements.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 8+ years in pharma/chemical/semiconductor industries and a Certified Steam Boiler Engineer or 1st Class Attendant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering with 8+ years in pharma/chemical/semiconductor.
• Certified Steam Boiler Engineer or minimum Steam Boiler Attendant (1st Class).
• Experience operating and maintaining Steam Boiler and related utilities (Cooling, HVAC, Purified Water).
• Ability to lead by example, handle high pressure, and review drawings/procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Boiler System and utilities as part of site operations.
• Implement preventive/predictive maintenance and spare parts strategy.
• Investigate root causes and action plans for boiler-related issues.
• Review and update site SOPs for Boiler System.
• Lead the shift team and ensure effective inter-departmental communication.
• Drive energy-saving initiatives and ensure EHS and GMP compliance.

As the Shift Boiler Operator, this position is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of Boiler System which composed of the major components such as the Boiler unit, Deaerator, Condensing Economizers, Blowdown, Fuel system, Condensate system, Steam header, etc.

This person is responsible to ensure smooth and continuous operation of Boiler System to support the manufacturing activities and the rest of the site.

In addition, Shift Boiler Operator is responsible for firstline troubleshooting, perform daily monitoring, to respond to any call related to steam supply and to comply to HSE and GMP requirement of the site

Jobscope:

• Responsible for the operation and maintenance of Boiler System.
• Responsible for the implementation of effective and efficient maintenance program. This includes preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance and spare parts strategy.
• Assist an investigation and root cause analysis of Boiler System. Identifying effective corrective and preventive action plan.
• Assist in reviewing and updating site Standard Operating Procedure for Boiler System.
• Assist in implementing engineering projects that will maximize efficiency and reliability.
• Assist in implementation of annual and monthly operations and maintenance plans for Boiler System and related document records to ensure timely updates, completeness and effectiveness of the maintenance program.
• Assist in reducing consumption of water, electricity and steam to meet energy saving requirements.
• Responsible for on-site 5S improvement and EHS requirements.
• Manage, nurture and guide the shift team and conduct effective leadership among the shift team members.
• Effective inter-departmental communication and collaboration.
• Cultivate and train shift team members to improve work skills and work efficiency.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, more than 8 years of relevant work experience in large pharmaceutical, chemical or semiconductor industry.
• Certified Steam Boiler Engineer or minimum Steam Boiler Attendant (1st Class).
• Have strong experience in the operation and maintenance particularly for Steam Boiler System and other Utilities System such as Cooling Tower System, HVAC Chilled Water System, Process Chilled Water System (Ammonia), Compressed Air System, Purified Water System, HVAC System, Electrical System and Extra Low Voltage System.
• Able to lead by example and have a strong sense of responsibility and can withstand strong work pressure with given timeline.
• Proficient in operating Office software and havethe ability to review drawings, procedures and maintenance program.
• Experience in Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) is an advantage
• Able to perform 12 hours shift
