Job summary

Singtel is seeking a senior Platform Operations Lead to drive the SD-WAN platform services. You will oversee maintenance, configurations, and security remediation while coordinating with engineering for new features and upgrades.

The role requires deep IP networking and SD-WAN expertise, with proven team leadership and budget awareness in a complex telecom environment.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronic / Computer Engineering / Computer Science / Information Systems.
• 10 years minimum of IP network experience.
• 5-8 years’ experience with SD-WAN systems.
• 3-5 years’ experience for team management.
• Expertise with routers/switches installation (Cisco, Juniper, Mellanox, Dell).
• Knowledge of Cisco SD-WAN, VMware VeloCloud SD-WAN, Fortinet SD-WAN.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Platform Ops team.
• Oversee regular maintenance, upgrades, and rollouts of network infra.
• Handle complex incidents and escalations for SD-WAN platforms.
• Review changes and ensure secure configurations.
• Prepare reports on performance, security posture and changes.
• Engage with engineering on new product/feature implementations.
• Monitor budgets and vendor expenditures within approved limits.

Lead a team to support the Singtel SD-WAN platform products and services in all aspects of maintenance and operations.

To represent and lead the Platform Operations in either simple or complex technical issues and participate in highly escalated cases to ultimately resolve untoward incidents for the satisfactory performance of SD-WAN platforms.

To execute configuration changes as supported by work orders and change requests after careful review and testing.

To govern all SD-WAN platforms in terms of security vulnerabilities, incidents and remediation.

To generate reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis about the performance, incidents, security posture and changes of all SD-WAN platforms.

To participate in designing, reviewing and implementing upcoming Platform products and services as required.

Make an impact by:

• Lead and Manage the platform Ops team
• Handle regular preventive maintenance on the SD-WAN Platform Operations.
• Support the expansion, upgrades and rollouts of new network and systems infrastructure involving hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, virtual appliances, VNFs, network monitoring and management systems.
• Support engineering teams on new product/ feature implementation, node deployment, and technical support matters.
• Responsible for troubleshooting and timely resolution of faults/issues within the SD-WAN platforms services.
• Analyze SD-WAN platforms’ performance and take proactive actions and preventive measures to monitor and enhance the network performance including software and hardware upgrades, etc.
• Prepare statistical reports on network and equipment performance.
• Analyzing financial information (e.g. revenues, expenditures and cash management) to ensure all operations are within budget.
• Presenting annual budgets to management.
• Vendor negotiation and preparation of cost analysis and justifications.
• Perform SD-WAN platforms performance analysis.
• Proactively engage Engineering teams and recommend courses of actions to prevent incidents that may be caused by performance issues.
• Archive prepared reports for future reference of job performance.
• Review financial documents in preparation for the next cycle.
• Negotiation with vendors has led to expenditures within budget and maximized value.
• Audits and reviews of the SD-WAN Platforms in parts or as a whole to keep in terms of the environment landscape.

Skills for Success:

• A Bachelor’s degree Electrical / Electronic / Computer Engineering / Computer Science / Information Systems from a recognized institution.
• 10 years minimum of IP network experience
• 5-8 years’ experience with SD-WAN systems
• 3-5 years’ experience for team management
• Possess expertise with routers and switches installation e.g. Cisco, Juniper, Mellanox, Dell .
• Possess expertise with Cisco SD-WAN, VMware VeloCloud SD-WAN, HPE Aruba SilverPeak SD-WAN, Fortinet SD-WAN, FortiSASE etc.
• Good understanding of Internet routing protocols and technologies including TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS/VPN.
• Knowledge of routers/switches architecture and software upgrade procedure.
• Good analytical and trouble-shooting skills in the area of technical fault isolation and rectification
• Knowledge of hypervisors such as eSXI, Adva, proxmox and KVM.
