Job summary

Agoda is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design, build and run GenAI services, agents and applications for Agoda teams in Singapore. You will own end-to-end delivery from understanding user needs to testing, release and production support, collaborating with product, data and engineering partners.

You bring 8+ years in software engineering, strong experience with Python/Java/TypeScript and hands-on GenAI projects, plus CI/CD, debugging production issues and strong English communication with

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of professional software-engineering experience, including delivering and operating complex production systems.
• At least 5 years of experience coding in one of: Python, Java, Kotlin, Scala, Go, C#, or TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience building GenAI applications, agents, platforms, or AI-agent-serving systems.
• Experience designing, testing and shipping reliable software through CI/CD, including debugging production issues.
• Demonstrable examples of AI problem solving and owning cross-functional team projects.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with stakeholders across international teams

Get to Know Our Team

We build the platforms and applications that help Agoda teams use generative AI in their daily work. Our scope includes shared model access, agent platforms, internal assistants, product tools and AI coding workflows. Based in Singapore, you will work with engineers and stakeholders across Agoda, including teams in other locations.

The Opportunity

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will design, build and run GenAI services, agents and applications that solve practical problems for Agoda teams. You will own delivery end-to-end - from understanding user needs and selecting a technical approach, through testing, release and production support. Your project focus will depend on your strengths and business priorities, and you will work with product, data and engineering partners to deliver agreed outcomes.

What You Will Do

• Design, build and run GenAI services, agents and applications that solve practical problems for Agoda teams.
• Own the delivery lifecycle: understand user needs, select a technical approach, and support testing, release and production operations.
• Improve AI quality, reliability, latency and cost using evaluations, monitoring and user feedback.
• Build reusable APIs, tools and integrations with appropriate access controls and data protection.
• Lead technical design discussions, make engineering decisions, and help other engineers improve their code and designs through constructive feedback.

What You Will Bring

• At least 8 years of professional software-engineering experience, including delivering and operating complex production systems.
• At least 5 years of experience coding in one of the following modern programming languages: Python, Java, Kotlin, Scala, Go, C#, or TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience building GenAI applications, agents, platforms, or AI-agent-serving systems, with demonstrable examples of your contribution.
• Experience designing, testing and shipping reliable software through CI/CD, including debugging and resolving production issues.
• Demonstrable examples of AI problem solving and of owning cross-functional team projects.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with stakeholders across international teams

It is Great if You Have

• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation, tool calling, agent orchestration or automated AI evaluation.
• Experience evaluating agentic solutions.
• Depth in one area such as distributed systems, frontend and full-stack applications, data pipelines, developer tools or ML infrastructure.
• Experience with containers, Kubernetes, observability, privacy controls, or improving AI quality and operating costs.
