Job summary

Better Payment Network is seeking a Staff Product Manager to lead cross-border payment and FX product development across emerging markets. You will collaborate with banks, PSPs, compliance teams, and engineering to design end-to-end fund flows and settlement solutions.

You will assess compliance, manage risks, and define product rules, SLAs, and transaction lifecycles, while applying AI tools to streamline research, documentation, and testing. English and Chinese communication is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of product management in fintech/payments/banking/FX/crypto.
• Hands-on experience in cross-border payments and financial channel integrations.
• Fluent in English and Chinese.
• Strong analytical and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead onboarding and integration of banks, PSPs, payment channels, and liquidity partners across emerging markets.
• Design end-to-end fund flows covering pay-in, pay-out, FX, settlement, refunds, and reconciliation.
• Conduct product-level compliance and risk assessments for markets, channels, partners, and business models.
• Own the design and delivery of cross-border payment, local payment method, virtual account, and settlement products.
• Define product rules, transaction statuses, account structures, limits, routing, and exception-handling mechanisms.
• Monitor channel performance, pricing, success rates, settlement efficiency, operational risks, and fund safety.
• Collaborate with engineering, compliance, risk, finance, treasury, operations, and external partners to drive delivery.
• Apply AI tools to improve product research, documentation, requirement analysis, workflow automation, testing, and data insights.
• Prepare clear product documentation and support cross-border communication in English and Chinese.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Staff Product Manager with strong experience in cross-border payments, emerging-market channel integrations, compliance assessment, and end-to-end fund flow design.

This role will lead the development of payment and FX products across global emerging markets, working closely with financial institutions, payment partners, compliance teams, and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the evaluation, onboarding, and integration of banks, PSPs, payment channels, and liquidity partners across emerging markets.
• Design end-to-end fund flows covering pay-in, pay-out, FX conversion, settlement, refund, reversal, and reconciliation.
• Conduct product-level compliance and risk assessments for new markets, channels, partners, and business models.
• Own the design and delivery of cross-border payment, local payment method, virtual account, and settlement products.
• Define product rules, transaction statuses, account structures, limits, routing, and exception-handling mechanisms.
• Monitor channel performance, pricing, success rates, settlement efficiency, operational risks, and fund safety.
• Work closely with engineering, compliance, risk, finance, treasury, operations, and external partners to drive delivery.

Requirements

• 8+ years of product management experience in fintech, payments, banking, FX, or crypto.
• Hands-on experience in cross-border payments and financial channel integrations.
• Strong understanding of pay-in, pay-out, FX, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, refunds, and reversals.
• Proven ability to design end-to-end fund flows, account structures, and transaction lifecycle logic.
• Ability to evaluate new markets and partners from product, compliance, risk, operational, and commercial perspectives.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Proficient in using AI tools to improve work efficiency and product delivery.
• Fluent in both English and Chinese.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience launching payment products in Latin America, Southeast Asia, Africa, the Middle East, or other emerging markets.
• Experience with local payment methods such as PIX, SPEI, virtual accounts, bank transfers, wallets, or real-time payment networks.
• Experience in FX pricing, liquidity management, treasury, or multi-currency settlement.
• Experience working with banks, payment institutions, card schemes, crypto exchanges, custodians, or liquidity providers.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks in Europe, Hong Kong, or Singapore, such as EMI, VASP, MiCA, MSO, SVF, or MPI, is a plus.
