Job summary

PeopleSolve is recruiting a Staff Nurse for the Respiratory/Procedure Unit in Singapore. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care under the Nurse Clinician, delivering high quality care across respiratory and dialysis procedures.

The role involves educating patients with asthma/COPD, handling dialyzer/bloodlines, monitoring vitals, and participating in emergency care. Registered with SNB and at least 1 year experience required.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Nursing or State Registered Nurse Certificate.
  • Advanced Nursing Diploma or equivalent is preferred for Senior Staff Nurse.
  • At least 1 year of experience as Staff Nurse.
  • Candidate must be registered with SNB.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care under the Nurse Clinician.
  • Provide high quality patient care in various disciplines through clinical procedures.
  • Counsel Asthma/COPD patients and families on diagnosis, treatment and outcomes.
  • Educate patients towards self-care for Respiratory conditions.
  • Provide telephone follow-up for Asthma/COPD patients.
  • Prime dialyzer and bloodlines; record patient vitals.
  • Oversee dialysis treatment from start to finish.
  • Administer prescribed medications and blood products during/after dialysis.
  • Ensure infection control and reinforce clinical practices on rounds.
  • Support clinicians with procedures for critically ill patients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team on health outcomes.
  • Observe safe management of respiratory support and drug infusions.
  • Prepare operating room equipment and supplies for procedures.
  • Check equipment and ensure proper functioning.
  • Handle and operate equipment on patients.
  • Ensure safety of instruments and consumables.
  • Triage patients and determine priority of care.
  • Perform focused patient assessments and review med history.
  • Assist with CPR and emergency treatment with physician.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for patients in the appropriate discipline under the direction of the Nurse Clinician in the individual units.
  • Provide high quality patient care in various disciplines by performing clinical procedures that will meet the patients immediate physical and emotional needs.
  • Provide clinical support to the Respiratory services through counseling of Asthma, COPD patients and their families with regard to the diagnosis, treatment and expected outcomes.
  • Empower and educate patients towards self-care for Respiratory conditions through patient education and tools.
  • To provide advice and assistance to Asthma / COPD patients via telephone follow up to assess their progress and address any related issues.
  • Prime dialyzer and bloodlines.
  • Records patients medical information and vital signs.
  • Oversees the dialysis treatment from start to finish.
  • Administer prescribed medications and blood products during and after dialysis.
  • Ensure staff practices in relation to hospital infection control protocols and to correct any non-conforming practices by reinforcing good clinical practices while on daily ward rounds.
  • Work alongside the clinicians and assist with clinical procedures that will meet critically ill patients health needs and care demands.
  • Collaborate and discuss with the multidisciplinary team on the desired health outcomes that can be achieved for critically ill patients.
  • Provide and observe the safe management of advanced forms of respiratory support, invasive monitoring and drug infusions.
  • Work alongside the surgeons providing instruments, needles, swabs and other materials as required, and being able to anticipate their needs.
  • Prepare the operating room for surgery by procuring appropriate equipment, supplies, consumables and infusions required for the procedure.
  • Check all equipment prior to surgery to confirm smooth and proper functioning.
  • Handle and operate equipment to be used on patients competently.
  • Ensure safety of surgical instruments, equipment and consumables used during the procedure.
  • Triage each patient and determine priority of care based on assessment of physical, psychological and social needs.
  • Perform focused patient assessment of chief complaint, medical history and medications to ascertain history and medical condition in a timely manner and according to established triage guidelines.
  • Assist with CPR and other emergency treatment and stabilize patients condition in collaboration with the physician.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma inNursing or State Registered Nurse Certificate.
  • Relevant Advanced NursingDiploma or equivalent is preferred for candidate applying for the SeniorStaff Nurse position.
  • At least 1 year of experienceas Staff Nurse.
  • Candidate must be registeredwith SNB.
