Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific in Singapore is seeking a Staff Engineer, Software to provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across our product portfolio, from cloud platforms to embedded instrumentation. Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher with 6+ years of embedded software experience, or Bachelor's with 8+ years.
• Expert proficiency in embedded C/C++ and RTOS-based systems.
• Experience with board support packages, device drivers and firmware update processes.
• Strong debugging, profiling, and problem-solving skills.

You will support the growth of other engineers, drive adoption of best practices, and help shape the technical direction of critical projects. REQUIREMENTS:

• Master's degree or higher with 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience in professional embedded software development
• Preferred Fields of Study: Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
• Expert proficiency in embedded C/C++
• Strong experience in RTOS embedded systems including MCU architecture memory maps, interrupt handling, DMA. Experience designing and developing Board Support Packages, HALs, device drivers and embedded software update mechanisms
• Multithreading, synchronization, concurrency, scheduling latency and resource constraints
• Hardware interfaces and protocols such as UART, SPI, CAN, RS-485 and USB
• Experience with Git, build systems, cross-compilation toolchains, and automated firmware builds.
• Provide technical leadership and strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and guide teams effectively.
• Familiarity with relevant standards such as IEC62304
