Job summary

LSP – Light Sensors & Photonics, a unit within ams OSRAM, seeks a Process Development Engineer to own dispensing and pick & place process development for high-volume production. You will collect data, analyze trends, and drive optimization in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include defining equipment requirements, inline inspection and metrology strategy, mechanical and optical characterization, and supporting NPI through technology transfer.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Material or Chemical).
• 3+ years’ experience in dispensing and pick & place process R&D for high-volume production; Datacon experience advantageous.
• Experience with Statistical Process Control methodologies (SPC), 8D, DOE; data analysis with JMP, Minitab, Python, Matlab.

Responsibilities

• Own dispensing and pick & place process development during engineering build phase, including data collection, analysis & optimization.
• Define equipment requirements and drive inline inspection and metrology strategy to ensure product quality.
• Implement mechanical and optical characterization of material during screening, validation and qualification phases.
• Execute root cause analysis via statistical methods and feed learnings into PFMEA.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support NPI through technology transfer to operations.

• Owner of process development during engineering build phase, including data collection, analysis & optimization, specific in dispensing and pick & place process


• Define equipment requirement and drive inline inspection and metrology strategy to ensure consistent product quality


• Implement mechanical and optical characterization of material during screening, validation and qualification phases


• Execute root cause analysis through statistical & problem-solving methodologies and implement learnings into Process Failure Mode & Analysis (PFMEA)


• Contribute in in projects via close collaboration with cross functional teams including overseeing build execution & documentation preparation


• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) phase through technology transfer to operation counterpart

• Degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Material or Chemical


• More than 3 years’ experience in dispensing and pick & place process R&D for high volume production; Prior experience with Datacon will be advantageous


• Statistical Process Control methodologies - SPC, 8D, DOE, six sigma using data analysis packages: JMP, Minitab, Python, Matlab;


• Proficiency in Solidworks and AutoCAD will be an advantage


• Excellent interpersonal skills, able to deliver impactful presentation to internal stakeholders and external customers and vendors
