Job summary

Reap is seeking a Staff Engineer to serve as the senior technical owner of the embedded finance platform. You will lead architectural direction, drive AI adoption across engineering teams, and work closely with Card Engineering to ensure platform initiatives land in product.

This is a high-leverage IC role, not a management position. You’ll guide architectural modernization, tackle scalability bottlenecks, and mentor engineers while shaping platform standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering with senior leadership experience.
• Deep experience in distributed systems and scalable API platforms.
• Ability to drive large, complex technical initiatives across multiple teams without direct authority.
• Strong systems thinking: observability, fault tolerance, and performance at scale.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the technical roadmap for the embedded finance platform, including scalability and modernization.
• Lead AI-adoption across engineering teams and integrate AI tooling into workflows.
• Collaborate with Card Engineering Managers to align platform goals with product delivery.
• Conduct architectural reviews and set standards for code quality, observability, and reliability.
• Mentor senior and staff engineers to raise the technical bar across teams.
