Job summary

Ambiq is seeking a Staff Embedded Software Engineer, DSP to drive development and testing of the customer DSP environment in the AmbiqSuite SDK on Ambiq SoC devices and emulation platforms. You will refine the HiFi5 DSP execution environment, port HAL code for peripherals, and lead DSP bring-up as a co-processor for ARM Cortex‑M55 applications.

The role requires hands-on debugging in lab environments, collaboration with global teams, and a focus on low-latency, power-efficient DSP software

Qualifications

• MS in ECE or CS with 6+ years of experience, or BS in ECE/CS with 8+ years in DSP software environments.
• Experience with HiFi5 DSP and Xtensa toolchain is highly desirable.
• Strong debugging, profiling, and performance optimization skills.
• Embedded C/assembly programming on ARM Cortex-M, with understanding of HW/SW interactions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and maintenance of HAL interfaces for peripherals on HiFi5 DSP.
• Evaluate RTOS or lightweight schedulers and port to Ambiq SDKs.
• Develop boot state machines and IPC/RPC protocols.
• Create and maintain DSP environment test cases and samples.
• Support customer workloads and optimize performance.
• Contribute to pre-silicon verification on FPGA and post-silicon bring-up and debugging.
